Chloe and I have an appointment this afternoon to get retested for lyme. I’m ridiculously nervous but also really excited. You know what they say, the proof is in the pudding!
I have gotten one test since returning from Germany that has given me something to be excited about- the D Dimer test. I have had this a few times over the years on my trips to the ER when I couldn’t breathe and felt crazy amounts of chest pain. It’s a test they give to rule out pulmonary embolisms. My levels were more than twice the high limit every time (which then led to ct scans). After so many times of no findings on the ct scans, I was told that it really is an indication of inflammation in the body which can be caused by an infection. I had it retested post Germany and just got access to my results recently. After years of being so high, my levels are very close to normal. To me this is another sign that my body is healing. I find it pretty amazing!!
